Hungary blocked Ukraine, and Poland wants talks on Ukrainian agriculture. RMF FM reports
Hungary has blocked EU letters that would allow Ukraine to present its negotiation position on transport and agriculture, hindering progress in these areas. This technical stage of the accession process requires unanimous consent from EU states, and Hungary's veto slows down the entire process. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed a desire to open the remaining clusters by the end of the year. Poland is advocating for discussions on a common EU position regarding Ukrainian agriculture, emphasizing the need for safeguards for European farmers. The European Commission is aware of the need for special measures to limit Ukrainian agricultural access to the EU market, which may lead to challenging negotiations.
