They recruited drivers, helped migrants cross the border
Two Ukrainian citizens are facing charges for organizing illegal border crossings for foreigners from Lithuania and Belarus. Their role involved coordinating drivers to transport migrants towards the Polish-German and Polish-Czech borders, facilitating their journey to Western Europe. Investigations revealed plans to assist several foreigners, including Ethiopians and Eritreans, in crossing the border illegally in 2025. The suspects have been charged with involvement in a criminal organization, with a prosecution already submitted to the District Court in Legnica, where they could face up to 12 years in prison. Additionally, two Moldovan citizens have also been implicated in the case, which is under separate investigation.
