Work after water leak completed: Melle center reopened for morning rush hour for all traffic
The roadworks in the center of Melle have been completed after a significant water leak caused traffic disruptions. Mayor Egbert Lachaert announced that the affected area was repaired and reopened to traffic on Friday morning. The leak, which occurred during construction, flooded the intersection of N9 and Gemeenteplein, leading to detours for vehicles between Wetteren and Ghent. One lane was temporarily opened during peak hours, but drivers were advised to avoid the area. A final asphalt layer will be applied later.
