West Bank: In Hebron, behind Israeli army barricades, a bitter sense of 'collective punishment'

Hijazi Shawar al-Tamimi, a respected elder in Hebron, collapsed after being assaulted by Israeli soldiers while trying to return home. He had been expelled during a military operation following the deaths of two Israeli soldiers. Al-Tamimi, who suffers from chronic health issues, attempted to retrieve his medication but was confronted by soldiers at a barricade. Surveillance footage captured the incident, where he was pushed and kicked by a soldier. He later fainted and was hospitalized, struggling to breathe and still in shock from the encounter.
