Deputy Foreign Minister: Discussions on polexit weaken our diplomatic work
During the Krynica Forum 2026, Jarosław Kaczyński emphasized the need for changes in the European Union, suggesting methods such as influencing public opinion and a new treaty with a delayed implementation. He referenced provisions in the EU Treaty regarding a state's exit from the EU. Ignacy Niemczycki criticized this discussion as unnecessary and dangerous, recalling that similar talks in the UK led to Brexit. He stressed the need to consider how to protect against such ideas, noting that in Poland, a simple parliamentary majority and presidential signature are sufficient for significant changes. Niemczycki expressed disagreement with Kaczyński's views.
