Great discovery in the North Sea. Orlen found gas in Norway
Orlen Upstream Norway has successfully completed exploratory drilling at the Aphrodite field in the North Sea, discovering resources over twice the initial estimates. This significant find allows for the potential extraction of approximately 32 million barrels of oil equivalent, including four billion cubic meters of gas. The company, in collaboration with Equinor and Wellesley Petroleum, aims to utilize advanced technology to optimize resource extraction. The updated estimates suggest that the Aphrodite field could yield between 77 and 180 million barrels of oil equivalent, prompting considerations for connecting it to existing infrastructure to reduce costs and expedite production.
