Wiki is going to France. Hundreds of Gdańsk residents said goodbye.

Wiki, an Indian elephant residing in Gdańsk Zoo since 2006, is being relocated for her well-being after the death of her companion, Katka. At over 60 years old, Wiki requires social interaction, which will be provided in a French sanctuary where she will have more space and two other elephants. The journey will take about two days, accompanied by her caretaker and a veterinarian. A farewell event was held on October 25, attended by many locals who shared memories and created cards for her. Wiki's past includes nearly 30 years in a circus, and she was rescued by One Voice before arriving at the zoo. Preparations for her move included training for transport and veterinary assessments.
