The Nigerian health minister confirmed the case and stated that the patient is isolated and receiving medical care. Authorities have identified 44 individuals who had direct contact with her. The Democratic Republic of Congo has been battling an Ebola outbreak since May, with nearly 4,500 deaths reported. The virus has also affected Uganda, which was declared Ebola-free by WHO in August. The Nigerian government has urged all health facilities to be on high alert.
