Soon, electricity will flow from the Baltica 2 power plant. "Poland symbolically larger by 20 hectares"
On Friday, Gdańsk officially opened the T5 terminal, Poland's first infrastructure dedicated to offshore wind farms. Prime Minister Donald Tusk emphasized the symbolic significance of this investment, stating that Poland is now "symbolically larger by 20 hectares." The area, previously underwater, will support the development of green energy. The T5 terminal not only marks a new point in Poland's energy landscape but also serves as an impetus for domestic companies and technologies. Tusk expressed pride in Poland's growing role as an energy power in the Baltic region, with the terminal expected to attract more Polish subcontractors for offshore wind projects. The terminal's construction cost 1.2 billion PLN, with over 700 million from the National Recovery Plan, promising not only clean energy but also job creation and industrial growth. The first electricity is anticipated by 2027, marking a significant step towards energy security.
