The mayor will stand trial for driving under the influence of alcohol

In November 2025, Dariusz K., the mayor of Gozdowo, was arrested twice for drunk driving in Płock. The first arrest occurred on November 13, where he was found with over two promiles of alcohol. Despite losing his driving license, he drove again the next day and was caught with nearly 0.4 promiles. Prosecutor Marcin Policiewicz announced that an indictment was filed against him for driving under the influence, with blood tests confirming high alcohol levels. Dariusz K. denies the charges, claiming he drank after parking his car. He has been the mayor since 1998 and was re-elected in April 2024 with 51.49% of the vote.
