World Pasta Day: in Italy the average price of pasta has dropped by almost 24% in two years

In Italy, the average price of pasta has decreased by 23.7% over two years, now averaging €1.59 per kg. This decline follows significant price increases due to the Ukraine conflict and energy crisis, which peaked in 2023 at €2.13 per kg. The report by the Center for Consumer Research highlights regional price disparities, with Udine having the highest prices at €1.91 per kg, while Siracusa offers the lowest at €1.10. Aosta saw the largest price drop at 37%. The findings indicate that southern regions have lower prices, correlating with higher pasta consumption rates.
