Explosion on the third floor. Investigators on the cause
A 66-year-old man faces charges of unintentionally causing an event endangering lives after a gas explosion in his apartment in Częstochowa. He admitted guilt. The explosion occurred early Saturday morning, damaging windows and doors but fortunately causing no injuries. Eighteen residents were evacuated. The man was found later that day with a blood alcohol level over two promiles. Authorities determined he failed to properly secure the gas valve on his stove, leading to the explosion. He is under police supervision and could face up to five years in prison.
