They cut down thousands of trees and shrubs. It is known who will redesign the greenery.
The construction of two additional tracks between Wawer and Otwock led to the removal of approximately 19,000 trees and shrubs, sparking outrage among residents. In response to protests, PKP PLK committed to replanting efforts and announced a tender for a green space project, awarded to Transprojekt Gdański. This project will create a comprehensive documentation for planting along the railway line, considering existing infrastructure and safety requirements. The modernization aims to improve transport efficiency by separating urban and long-distance traffic, with completion expected by 2028. Additionally, murals will be designed for road tunnels, reflecting local history and architecture.
