Is a photo of the face enough? This is how they want to use AI in oncology
AI models are effectively used to assess biological age and predict cancer patient outcomes based on facial analysis. FAHR-FaceAge evaluates biological age from selfies, while FAHR-FaceSurvival predicts survival rates for cancer patients by analyzing specific facial areas. Research shows that FAHR-FaceSurvival accurately identified high-risk patients, with over half dying within 90 days. In contrast, low-risk patients had a significantly lower mortality rate. These AI assessments complement traditional medical evaluations and can aid in therapy selection. Researchers emphasize that while AI can identify at-risk individuals, it should not replace comprehensive medical tests.
