From factories to office buildings, from office buildings to apartments. The third life of Służewiec

In the 1950s, Służewiec transformed from an industrial area to a major office district, now known as "Mordor." Following a shift towards residential development, the population has surged from 15,000 in 2015 to over 31,000 today, with projections exceeding 40,000 by 2030. This change is accompanied by an increase in services and green spaces, although infrastructure struggles to keep pace with growth. Many office buildings are being repurposed for residential use, while some remain viable. Residents express concerns about traffic and parking issues, highlighting the need for improved infrastructure to support the growing community. Local authorities acknowledge these challenges and plan to enhance transport and public services accordingly.
