Gold and diamonds found among the waste. After years, they ended up in the museum
The Wodzisław Śląski Museum received valuable jewelry, including a gold ring with a diamond and a star-shaped pendant, estimated at over 100,000 PLN. Director Sławomir Kulpa noted the items date back to the 19th century and were likely hidden in 1945 during the destruction of the city by the Soviet Army. The jewelry was discovered in 2015 in a metal box by two men in Kokoszyce, but attempts to find the owner were unsuccessful, leading to the court ruling it for the State Treasury. The museum plans to exhibit the treasure in 2026 and establish a permanent display by 2027, ensuring proper documentation and security for the artifacts.
