The mystery of Punkva was cut by an inconspicuous detour. Cavers found its underground origin.
Cave divers in the Amateur Cave of Moravian Karst have likely discovered the origin of the Punkva River, formed by the confluence of Sloupský Potok and Bílá Voda. They also successfully connected the Šolimova Mísa with the dome under Rodeo after years of effort. The divers identified a tributary from the north, confirming their location. Although confident in their findings, they plan to conduct tracer tests to ensure no mixing occurs upstream. Additionally, they navigated a 50-meter passage in zero visibility, confirming the connection of Punkva, the longest underground river in the Czech Republic, which flows into the Svitava River after emerging from the caves.
