ZAS hospitals get stoma-friendly toilet: "Should also be in restaurants or concert halls"

Six hospitals in Antwerp have introduced stoma-friendly toilets for patients, featuring lower mirrors and shelves for convenience. Patients like Magda Rutten emphasize the need for similar facilities in public places like restaurants and concert halls. Many existing toilets are not designed for stoma care, making it difficult for patients to manage leaks or changes. The new toilets include accessible features such as a washbasin and a trash bin for used materials. Patients express relief at having a suitable space to care for their stoma, reducing embarrassment and allowing them to continue their activities without worry.
