Ricardo Lopez Lara and his wife Alicja Kryczało met in the USA, united by their love for Latin music and dance. Their lives changed dramatically three years ago when Ricardo faced severe kidney issues. This year, his cousin from Mexico became a kidney donor, and the transplant was successful. To express gratitude, Ricardo danced salsa in the hospital with his wife. As of September 2026, UCK has performed 371 organ transplants, but the number of donors in Poland remains low. Discussions about organ donation are often taboo, and families frequently lack knowledge about the deceased's wishes. The Polish Episcopate encourages organ donation as a way to help others.
