Sank in September 1939. Sensational discovery at the bottom of Puck Bay
A surprising discovery was made in the Puck Bay, where parts of the ORP "Gdynia" were found, previously thought to be completely salvaged. The wreck, which sank during WWII, was confirmed by Polish inscriptions and distinctive features. The ship, originally a passenger vessel, was mobilized into the Polish Navy and sunk by German air raids in 1939, resulting in over 30 casualties. The site will be legally protected, and efforts are underway to recover and preserve the ship's steering wheel. An official presentation of the findings will take place on October 26 at the Naval Museum in Gdynia.
