Zelensky talks about record losses for Russians. He compared them to the population of Chukotka
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that Russian forces suffered their highest losses in October since the war began, with 54,400 soldiers killed or severely injured. He noted that on October 21 alone, Russia lost 2,250 soldiers, marking a record for daily casualties. Zelensky emphasized that Ukrainian forces liberated 96.2 square kilometers of territory, surpassing the area occupied by Russian troops. He stated that Russia's high losses could be mitigated by choosing to cease hostilities and engage in diplomatic efforts. Independent analyses suggest that total Russian losses since the invasion began may exceed several hundred thousand, with some estimates ranging from 1.1 to 1.5 million.
