Zelensky rejected the peace proposal in 2023. Ukrainian MP confirms reports

In early 2023, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky received an unofficial peace proposal from Russia, which he rejected. The plan included recognizing Russian control over Crimea and parts of Donbas, along with a land corridor to Crimea. Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Goncharenko confirmed the proposal's existence and details, stating it involved withdrawing Russian troops and establishing a new demarcation line. The proposal also included provisions for NATO to guarantee a ceasefire and negotiations on security guarantees with the U.S. Goncharenko noted that the plan required Ukraine to acknowledge Russian control over Crimea without formally recognizing it as Russian territory. The proposal aimed to create a land corridor funded by Russia, but Zelensky ultimately declined it.
