Zelensky wants security guarantees for Russia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has advocated for security guarantees for Russia as part of a future peace agreement to end the war. This marks the first time he has taken such a stance. Zelensky emphasized that resolving the war is the priority before addressing Russia's security concerns, which he believes could alter the security landscape in Europe and globally. He stated that discussions on Russian security guarantees should involve Ukraine's security first. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov echoed this sentiment, indicating that mutual security guarantees will be discussed in a trilateral meeting mediated by the U.S. in November.
