Same electricity, but up to 2.5 times more expensive: costs of public charging stations in Belgium completely opaque

The price difference between the cheapest and most expensive charging stations in Belgium can reach up to 160%. Research shows significant variations in costs for charging electric vehicles, with some stations charging over 60 euros for a typical charge while others charge only 24 euros for the same service. The lack of price regulation and transparency at charging stations leads to confusion for consumers. Current European regulations require operators to provide reasonable and transparent pricing, but do not set maximum prices. The inconsistency in pricing is not related to the type of charging station, and there is a need for clearer pricing information at the stations themselves.
