Self-built saloon of Limburg shooting club burned down at opening party
The wooden clubhouse of shooting club Davy Crockett in Meterik was destroyed by fire during the opening party of the saloon. Fortunately, all attendees evacuated safely. Approximately one hundred firefighters were deployed to combat the blaze, and there was no ammunition in the building. The saloon had been completed just two weeks prior, built by members to celebrate the club's 60th anniversary. Club president Jan Joosten expressed pride in the collective effort to construct the building. An open day was scheduled for today.
