Zelzate lays symbolic first stone of new Sint-Laurens school
In Zelzate, the symbolic first stone of the new Sint-Laurens school has been laid, represented by a large stone that will serve as a bench. The school will accommodate various educational levels, including adult education. The project involves constructing two modern buildings on the site of the former Brothers of Charity monastery, covering 8,500 square meters. A green meeting area will be created for students to collaborate and relax. After ten years of planning, construction began in June, with a total project cost of approximately 25 million euros, expected to be completed in two years, aiming for a September 2028 opening.
