Change in the number of MPs elected in constituencies. There is a move by the Speaker of the Sejm
In November, Polish lawmakers will address a proposed amendment to the Electoral Code to adjust the number of MPs elected in constituencies based on population, as announced by Mariusz Witczak. Previously, Karol Nawrocki vetoed a similar amendment. The Sejm has ignored calls for change for 12 years, leading to increasing disparities in voter influence. The latest report from the National Electoral Commission indicates that in 23 out of 41 electoral districts, the number of MPs should be adjusted. Some districts require fewer MPs, while others need more, particularly in Wrocław and the Warsaw area. In response to the Commission's letter, Włodzimierz Czarzasty urged parliamentary groups to consider legislative initiatives to ensure compliance with electoral laws.
