Changes in state-owned companies. Higher requirements for candidates
A new legislative proposal aims to tighten requirements for candidates to supervisory boards of state-owned companies in Poland. The professional experience requirement will increase from 5 to 7 years, and MBA degrees must be obtained from accredited institutions. Candidates must also have served at least five years on the boards of large enterprises. Additionally, corporate governance rules will extend to subsidiaries of state-owned companies, with stricter requirements for board members, including a minimum of 10 years of professional experience. A new IT system for ownership supervision will be established, replacing outdated technology, and will collect data on state-owned companies. The implementation cost is estimated at 11.2 million PLN from 2027 to 2036.
