The snakehead sows terror in rivers. It lays even 50 thousand eggs and... comes ashore

The northern snakehead is an invasive fish species known for its aggressive predatory behavior and adaptability to various environments. It can grow up to one meter long and has sharp teeth, making it a formidable predator of smaller fish, amphibians, and even small mammals. This species can survive out of water for several days by breathing atmospheric air, which poses a significant threat to native species. Originally from East Asia, the snakehead has rapidly spread to other regions, including the United States, where it is considered a pest. Authorities recommend drastic measures to control its population, including immediate euthanasia of captured specimens. While there are currently no confirmed sightings in Polish waters, climate change and the release of exotic species warrant close monitoring.
