Disappearing data, anonymous reports, and sudden departures. Mysterious failure at the Military Recruitment Center
In June 2026, a serious server failure occurred at the Military Recruitment Center in Opole, affecting the classified "Spirala" system that manages data on reserve soldiers and candidates. This incident potentially led to partial or permanent data loss, and for months, superiors in Warsaw were not informed. The failure coincided with the sudden departures of two key officers, who had to explain allegations of misconduct. Investigations revealed that since October 2025, proper backups were not being made, and experts attribute the failure to long-standing organizational issues. The center has faced high turnover among IT staff and inadequate oversight of IT systems. New specialists have been sent to restore functionality and recover lost data, raising concerns about data security across the military.
