Destruction of the former Świętokrzyski Cemetery. There is a decision from the prosecutor's office
The Warsaw District Prosecutor's Office declined to initiate an investigation into alleged misconduct by the Mazovian Provincial Conservator of Monuments regarding the construction of a new parish building, which reportedly led to the destruction of the historic Cemetery of Świętokrzyski. The prosecutor stated that the actions did not constitute a criminal offense. The construction site revealed numerous human remains, prompting concerns about the preservation of historical value. Two expert opinions were obtained, one indicating potential harm to the site's historical significance, while the other supported the new construction. The prosecutor emphasized that proving intent is necessary for criminal liability, and the case lacked sufficient grounds for prosecution.
