Zuckerberg is preparing a major offensive. Meta needs money to compete with OpenAI

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, plans to raise approximately $35 billion through public securities offerings, including common and preferred shares. Additionally, it aims to initiate a gradual stock sale program worth up to $60 billion, starting in Q1 2027. The company is significantly increasing its investments in artificial intelligence, with projected expenditures between $135 billion and $145 billion this year. Despite reporting negative free cash flows of $2.12 billion in Q3, Meta's revenues reached $64.60 billion, exceeding analyst expectations. The company has filed a shelf registration with the SEC for future securities issuance, with proceeds intended for general corporate purposes.
