Heavy fighting in Yemen, Houthis accused of causing famine
Intense fighting and bombings are reported in Yemen, particularly in Taiz, where 13 deaths, mainly among women and children, have occurred. Local authorities accuse the Houthi rebels of causing a famine in the besieged city, which is cut off from essential supplies. Human Rights Watch suggests a deliberate humanitarian crisis may constitute a war crime. The Houthis deny blocking humanitarian aid, claiming only arms shipments to pro-Saudi militias are restricted. Meanwhile, the Yemeni forces report significant casualties among Houthi fighters and have conducted numerous attacks. The Houthis also claimed responsibility for missile strikes on Saudi Arabia, targeting airports and oil refineries, with some missiles intercepted by Saudi defenses.
