We have to repay 9 billion forints to the EU for a program in which Ádám Matolcsy's furniture factory was also a winner
The Hungarian government must return 9 billion HUF to the EU due to irregularities in a Brexit relief program, which included Matolcsy Ádám's furniture factory among the beneficiaries. This amount is part of a larger 22 billion HUF fund, and the government is reallocating funds to meet this obligation by December 15. An audit revealed significant irregularities in the distribution of funds, with 13 out of 15 applications deemed improperly funded. The reason for the repayment is still unclear, but it may be linked to the audit findings. Velkey György from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attributed the repayment requirement to errors by the ministry led by Szijjártó.
