The Borsod Black Hole: It Feels Like We're Descending into Hell
The Esztramos Mountain in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County conceals a unique, deep shaft from an old quarry. A cave rescue exercise was conducted to explore potential connections to the mountain's extensive cave and mining system. This area features one of Hungary's most beautiful caves, complete with two underground lakes. Additionally, a via ferrata route runs along the rocky summit of the mountain. Caution is advised as the shaft is closed and accessing it without special equipment is extremely dangerous.
