Did the Jäger cause the drought? The MTA put an end to the debate.
The Hungarian Academy of Sciences refuted claims that the JÉGER system causes droughts or reduces precipitation. A report initiated by Minister Szabolcs Bóna indicates that while the system has been operational since 2018, its effectiveness in mitigating hail damage is unproven. The technology disperses silver iodide into the atmosphere to create artificial ice nuclei in storm clouds. However, researchers found no significant reduction in hailstorm frequency or severity. Concerns about silver iodide accumulation in soil were addressed, showing no evidence of widespread contamination. The Academy recommends stricter regulations for weather modification technologies to prevent the spread of unscientific practices and misinformation.
