Porto camp sets up a tent and four large tents to protect itself from the rain

The Porto Camp has set up a protective structure in Praça D. João I, including a steel-supported tarp and four large tents for logistical support. This installation began early in the morning to withstand the rain affecting the area. By 6:30 PM, equipment was being prepared for a popular assembly under two large black tents. Additional tents continue to support a communal kitchen serving hundreds daily. A medical post is also being established with a standard open white tent. Protests against the housing crisis began on October 10 in Porto and have spread to Lisbon and other cities, leading to police interventions and numerous arrests. The Public Prosecutor's Office has requested a constitutional review of a 1974 law limiting protest hours to 12:30 AM. Protesters are demanding changes to rental laws and affordable housing ceilings.
