Azores supports fishing with 3 million for fuels
The Azores Government has launched a €3 million extraordinary support program for fishing and aquaculture professionals to offset rising fuel costs. This initiative, funded by the MAR 2030 program, aims to assist operators affected by international energy market instability. The support will cover additional production costs incurred from February 28 to December 31, 2026, helping to stabilize food supply and mitigate the impact of increased production costs on consumers. The regional government emphasizes its commitment to the fishing sector, aiming to protect jobs and ensure the sustainability of livelihoods dependent on maritime activities.
