Adam Glapiński, president of NBP: The Polish central bank already has 700 tons of gold

Adam Glapiński, the head of the National Bank of Poland (NBP), announced that Poland has solidified its position among the top ten countries in gold reserves, valued at approximately 356 billion PLN. He highlighted that this achievement enhances Poland's financial stability and credibility. The unrealized profit from gold holdings is around 140.5 billion PLN, which has been proposed as a basis for alternative defense financing. Glapiński also commented on the recent decision of the Monetary Policy Council to maintain interest rates at 3.75%, despite projections indicating a potential inflation rate between 3.1% and 5.3% next year, which exceeds the NBP's target range.
