AIMA launches form for permanent residency request

A AIMA launched a new feature for immigrants applying for permanent residency in Portugal, effective November 4. A specific form for this request has been added to the agency's contact form, aimed at streamlining appointment scheduling and assisting AIMA staff. This new functionality is exclusively for first-time permanent residency applications, while renewals continue through the existing portal. Permanent residency allows foreigners to live indefinitely in Portugal, requiring at least five years of temporary residency and compliance with specific legal conditions, including proof of income and housing. The physical card is valid for five years, although the residency itself does not expire.
