OTP turns to the Constitutional Court regarding one of the first laws of the Tisza government
On November 6, OTP and other market players filed a constitutional complaint with the Constitutional Court regarding a law that indefinitely enshrines a previously established interest rate cap. This law was adopted during the parliamentary session on May 9, following the elections. OTP announced this on the Budapest Stock Exchange, noting that the law interferes disproportionately in private legal relations and does not meet constitutional security requirements. They requested the Court to declare the law unconstitutional. Previously, OTP and others had filed three complaints against the interest rate cap, which are still pending a decision.
