ATP Finals without Djokovic. "Nole" is not sad: I can't wait.
Novak Djokovic, a seven-time Paris Masters champion, made history as the oldest player to win a match at the event. He defeated Monaco's Valentin Vacherot in the first round but lost to Japan's Hijikata in the second round. Djokovic's performance was strong initially, but he faltered in the later sets, leading to his defeat. This loss means he will not qualify for the ATP Finals for the first time since 2017. Other surprises included top-ranked Alexander Zverev losing to Lorenzo Musetti and several seeded players being eliminated early. Hubert Hurkacz also lost in the first round to Musetti.
