Attack in Arras: the suspect in the assassination of Dominique Bernard will be tried before the special assize court
On November 4, three investigating judges ordered the trial of Mohammed Mogouchkov, the alleged assassin of French teacher Dominique Bernard, to proceed to a special assize court. This decision follows a jihadist attack in Arras three years ago that resulted in one death and three injuries. The national anti-terrorist prosecutor confirmed the indictment, while also appealing the dismissal of charges against Mogouchkov's younger brother and cousin. Mogouchkov, who had previously been flagged for Islamist radicalization, attacked Bernard with knives, claiming allegiance to ISIS. The judges noted that the attack was premeditated, aimed at expressing hatred towards Western lifestyles and targeting education.
