Aveiro bets on high-rise construction for more housing

The Aveiro City Council is set to amend the Municipal Master Plan to increase housing capacity by promoting taller buildings. Mayor Luís Souto Miranda emphasized the need for growth in height due to limited urban land, while also proposing the creation of new centralities to enhance housing supply and attract residents to various areas. Councilor Ana Cláudia Oliveira noted a significant population increase, highlighting the need for infrastructure and housing solutions to meet new demands.
