According to the Constitutional Court, Patyi András's past as an agent "must not be overlooked in any way"

The Constitutional Court responded to the revelation that András Patyi's name appeared in a database of agent files. They emphasized the importance of addressing the situation after understanding all circumstances. Patyi's file indicates he was approached for recruitment in 1988 under the alias "Márton Kocsis" and was a member of the Hungarian Communist Youth Alliance. He was nominated for the Constitutional Court by Fidesz-KDNP in 2023. Previously, he served as Deputy President of the Curia and is known for fining Prime Minister Viktor Orbán during the 2018 election campaign. HVG has also sought comment from Patyi but has not received a response yet.
