The state-owned MVM could be the big winner of the wind turbine tender
Hungary received applications for nearly 2300 megawatts of new wind power plants, announced Energy Minister István Kapitány. A total of 46 applications were submitted by 37 investors for a summer tender. While the projects aim for 2300 megawatts, only about 700 megawatts of new capacity can be connected in the first round. The evaluation of applications is ongoing, with results expected by mid-December. Some connection points were highly attractive, like Szombathely, while others, such as Ócsa, received minimal interest. Notably, state-owned MVM Szélenergia Kft. is a significant player in the bidding process, alongside various Austrian companies. The application window was open from early September to late October.
