The NVI turned to the Ministry of Justice to ban campaigning with children
The National Election Office proposes over a hundred amendments to electoral rules, including banning campaigning with children and tightening residency regulations to combat vote tourism. They also aim to allow postal voting for expatriates. The proposal was sent to the Ministry of Justice, highlighting that vote tourism has not been a crime since 2021. Changes to the rules for collecting endorsements are also suggested due to misuse of personal data. Election expert Gábor Tóka views many of the changes positively but criticizes the delay in addressing known issues within the system.
