AK hero did not receive compensation for ZDF series. The Supreme Court has suspended the case again
Zbigniew Radłowski, a WWII veteran, was involved in rescuing Jews and later sued the producers of the series "Our Mothers, Our Fathers" for defamation. The Polish courts ruled that the series misrepresented Polish soldiers, leading to a requirement for public apologies. However, the Supreme Court referred questions to the CJEU regarding jurisdiction, which stated that claims for damages can only be pursued in the country where the harm occurred. The CJEU also noted that Radłowski was not individually identifiable in the series, limiting his claims. Following Radłowski's death, the case was suspended pending potential heirs' involvement.
