Bragança will have a social daycare with extended hours
The Associação de Socorros Mútuos dos Artistas de Bragança is establishing a social daycare with extended hours for 42 infants, set to open early next year. The initiative responds to increased demand from immigrant families in Bragança, with an expected 40 to 60 families needing the service. Located in the ASMAB headquarters, the daycare will operate Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 7 PM, with potential Saturday hours. Fees will be income-based, ensuring accessibility for low-income families. The institution will receive social security contributions of around 500 euros per child, although this is deemed insufficient. Previously, ASMAB operated a family daycare service, which was closed due to financial and regulatory challenges.
