The e-Health Center responds after cyberattacks on medical refrigerators. There is a warning.
The CSIRT CeZ reports an increase in cyber incidents targeting operational technology systems in Western Europe, particularly affecting refrigeration systems. A recent attack in France attempted unauthorized changes to blood service refrigeration systems, risking medical samples. CSIRT CeZ advises healthcare units to enhance security measures, including limiting remote access and reviewing administrator permissions. Similar attacks have affected supermarkets across Europe, leading to food spoilage. In Poland, CERT identified 140 internet-accessible refrigeration units and confirmed one cyberattack, which caused no material damage due to prompt action.
